Arsenal Vs Everton Pre-match news

News and gossip from The Emirates ahead of the game with Everton tonight
Team-news first ahead of the crunch tie with Everton this evening. Jack Wilshere is likely to drop to the bench for the game after only returning from another ankle problem for the game against Norwich City.

Tomas Rosicky has recovered from his knock and should deputise in the heart of midfield. Theo Walcott could return to the starting fold after entering the fray as
a substitute on Saturday while Lukas Podolski is also pushing for a start.

Lukasz Fabianski is a doubt with a rib injury which may see Wojciech Szczesny or Vito Mannone deputise in his place.

Everton have a fully fit squad after Tony Hibbert returned to action however he is not expected to feature.

Wilshere’s place on the bench comes after Arsene Wenger admitted rushing the England international back to action at The Emirates last weekend. He played just 59 minutes of the game with Norwich after six weeks out injured and Wenger has admitted he was rushed back slightly to compensate for the injury to Rosicky.

The Daily Mail carries the story that Swansea City defender Ashley Williams has held talks with Arsenal over a potential £12 million move this summer. The Wales captain is also being aggressively courted by former manager Brendan Rodgers at Liverpool but it seems Arsenal have gained the early upper-hand.

Jack Wilshere is determined that Arsenal play the party poopers later this month when they take on Manchester United at The Emirates. With results going as they are United can secure the Premier League title in the fixture in North London on April 28th; a scenario that would end up seeing Arsenal players having to give a guard of honour to former captain and top goal-scorer Robin Van Persie. First of all he says they must beat Everton in what he calls a ‘really important’ fixture.

Arsenal under-21’s edged their way toward a victory over Wolves last night. Chuba Akpom scored a brace while Daniel Boateng was sent off in the 3-2 win. Sanchez Watt scored the winning goal in stoppage time.

The fixture saw another appearance for young German midfielder Gedion Zelalem to make an impression. The 16-year-old has been compared to Cesc Fabregas and once again played the full 90 minutes against players far above him in terms of physical stature. He is certainly looking like one to watch.
