You silly hugger ! Fergie: RVP must remember I'm 71

CRUSH ON YOU ... RVP rejoices with Fergie
ALEX FERGUSON accused Robin van Persie of playing silly-huggers!
RVP celebrated ending his 10-game goal drought with a big cuddle for boss Fergie.

And the Scot claimed: “He nearly killed me! He forgets I’m 71. It was a great celebration as it brought the emotion of
the players and fans together. We really did celebrate that.”

Van Persie’s 66th-minute penalty sealed victory over struggling Stoke and put United FIFTEEN points clear of rivals Manchester City.

Ferguson added: “For all strikers you go through spells when you are not scoring and thinking you will never get a goal.

“Then when you are scoring you never think you are going to miss.
“The ball moved off the spot two or three times but he showed composure to settle down and score a perfect penalty – low, hard and into the corner.”

The Dutch striker raced to celebrate with his boss and the rest of United’s bench.
Van Persie said: “The relief of a couple of weeks came out!

“I wanted to celebrate with everyone players and staff as they have been great to me from day one.
“Even when it is a little harder they still support and believe in me. That’s why I wanted everyone to join in.”
Michael Carrick netted the fourth-minute opener as United took their tally to 80 points.

They could become champions on Sunday if results go their way.
And they are also on target to break Chelsea’s Premier League record of 95 points, set by Jose Mourinho’s outfit in.
