Psy’s "Gentleman" Style"beats Gangnam Style" as Music Video Sets new Guinness World Record

Psy's new Video "Gentleman" hits World record
The South Korean pop star Psy  also known as Park Jae-sang and his newest single have snagged a Guinness world record for the most viewed video online in 24 hours and it only needed to hit 38 million views to do that.

Since it was  released almost two weeks ago, “Gentleman” has racked up more than 248 million views compared with “Gangnam Style,” which now has been played a staggering
1.5 billion times. “Gentleman” managed to acquire 100 million views in four days, while it took “Gangnam Style” almost two months to reach the same threshold.

Scooter Braun, the talent manager who signed Psy to Schoolboy Records (and a 2013 TIME 100 honoree), told MTV he was optimistic about the new single’s success.

“It went like No. 1 in like 52 countries, so it was kind of mind-blowing for us. But [Psy] is just fun. And I think he’s coming to the States end of this week to start performing it on TV, and around the world. And he represents having a good time, so good for him.”

Previously, the world-record holder for most viewed video online in 24 hours was the 2012 YouTube viral clip that spotlighted Ugandan warlord Joseph Kony.
